Acquisition and planning notices

Notices by which the state acquires, revokes, restricts or re-designates land. A notice usually takes effect on publication, long before anything is visible on the ground, and it binds land that is later sold by someone who does not mention it.

Why this matters for a buyer

A compulsory acquisition or revocation attaches to the land, not to the person. Buying from a holder whose interest has been revoked buys the revocation too. Always check whether a notice covers the parcel before you transact.
